prepared - we took classes, read books, but the reality of having a newborn can't be learned/taught in theory! Stephanie was everything I wished for and more - she was an emotional support, she helped me set up a successful breastfeeding relationship (I am still Breastfeeding - 15 months later!), she prepared my favorite snacks and helped with baby care so I could nap. She made first weeks of my maternity leave feel like vacation! I think for any mom who had a C-section like I did a great doula is priceless. I interviewed several doulas before hiring Stephanie but chose her because of her lovely personality and wealth of knowledge and experience. She truly makes you feel at ease and in control during one of the most challenging transitions in woman's life. I am very shy and introverted but Stephanie is very tactful and doesn't "take over". She is like a loving mom/sister caring for you and the little one. Best idea I ever had! My husband thought we could do without a doula but after just one day with Stephanie being with us he admitted this was a great decision!"
